Broadcasting, training and public speaking

I'M an experienced spokeswoman on issues connected with multiple births and have been interviewed by among others: Sky TV, BBC World Service, BBC News 24, Saga Radio, Radio Five Live, Radio WM and Central News.

In 2007, I was on the Jeremy Vine show, discussing some of the horrors of supermarket shopping and, winning a bet to say "kumquat". (Please don't hold it against me.)

In 2007/2008, I've done various radio interviews to promote my book, The Greatest Freelance Writing Tips in the World, notably with Radio London.

In 2003 I appeared in an edition of Central's Lifeline programme with Emily and Melissa. Sky broadcast hourly interviews with me and the director of Tamba, Helen Forbes, from the charity's fun day in 2003 and 2004. I also appeared in an edition of the Central News 'Real Life' feature.

More recently, as a result of my You've got your hands full blog, I have been invited for interview by Radio Stoke and the Go Mums! Podcast team.

You can see what student journalist Dave Lee had to say about my talk at the University of Lincoln here.

In March 2008, I spoke to the United Nations Youth and Student Association on how to get your views into print. There is a very lengthy report about the talk here.

UNYSA past president, Luke Harman says: "Your presentation really did make such a valuable contribution to the day, and the amount of discussion that it inspired after the conference was testament to just how much it was enjoyed by all.

"I have no doubt that you have opened the eyes of many of our members, highlighting to them just what the possibilities are when it comes to raising the profile of their campaigns."

I also recently spoke at Market Drayon Writers' Group. Author Mary Williams says: "Linda - it was great to meet you and thanks once again for giving us your time and encouragement (not sure which is most important!) I've ordered the book and have already emailed a couple of pitches....See what you've done!"

I've also spoken to members of the Guild of Health Writers about breaking new markets and to students during careers days as well as to charities on how to boost their PR. I am a new addition to the media training team at The 101.
