Editing and news editing
Express & Star IN 1998, I worked as a district news editor at the Wolverhampton Express & Star. I worked on the newsdesk to oversee either the Staffordshire, Dudley or Sandwell editions. I was news editor at Worcester in 1996. Assistant launch editor: Pulse, St Petersburg. Editor: St Petersburg Press, (now Times) St Petersburg. I also often oversaw production of its arts supplement Prospects. Here’s what the Lonely Planet Guide had to say about The St Petersburg Press and Pulse, while I was editor: The St Petersburg Press, once an upstart with lofty ideas, is now an integral part of life in the city. The team puts together a reliable weekly, especially its Prospects section packed with practical information and listings of clubs, pubs, restaurants, museums and theatres etc. Pulse is a slick colour monthly with tons of club, pub, nightlife and other information about the city at large, written with a very young and fresh outlook. All about Eve (Express & Star) In 2000, I was called upon to stand in for the regular editor of this weekly women's supplement for the summer. Business Report: When this West Midlands-based business newspaper relaunched in 2003, I offered guidance in establishing regular features and news reporting. I was also responsible for subbing and proofreading. Twins, Triplets & More: Popular quarterly magazine published by Tamba, The Twins and Multiple Births Association.
